A philosopher of your calibre should be able to convince him that death is worth living for. You'll just have to find where he's holed up... a coffin deep inside a crypt, perhaps? Ask other bloodsuckers – they may have run into him at one of those vampire weekend retreats or a masquerade put on by the Kamarilla.
