Berylbell Copperbeard's Bell

This bell is really effective if you want to be heard rather quickly, but in return, it makes everyone around you deaf for a good hour at least... It's said that only Bitter-Hammers can stand the sound. Do they actually have exceptional hearing, or is it just that their ears are so dirty they're blocked, meaning they can't hear anything but this bell?
